Bronko, Do Mee, Icks, Kunos, Millo, Smyle e Zhanco – via Cupello

On the morning of 8 August 2014, the first edition of the Antonio GIORDANO Prize was officially presented at the Council Hall of the Municipality. In the presence of a large and attentive audience, the creator of the Marianna Giordano prize and the councilor for Culture Nicolangelo Licursi illustrated the idea and in particular wanted to remember the human and artistic figure of Antonio Giordano. In the speeches by the Principal Colombo, by prof. Luigi Pizzuto and prof. Matteo Petruccelli the meaning and meaning of the life and work of an artist who died too early.

Marianna Giordano's idea is very original. A graffiti & painting session to remember the artist Antonio Giordano (his father), who suddenly passed away on August 22, 2013.
The appointment is scheduled for August 8 and 9 in Santa Croce di Magliano.

"The prize - the organizers say - wants to keep his memory alive and to continue to disseminate the results of his research in the artistic field and he wants to do it starting from the rediscovery of one of his fields of action, that is, from the field of opera of art created in the urban context, whether it be a work of street art or a monument ".
The award has the further objective of resuming an interrupted speech between the Municipality of Santa Croce di Magliano and Street Art, in 1994 , with the second and last edition of "Murals in the town", which saw the artist Antonio Giordano among the protagonists.
Bronko, Do Mee, Icks, Kunos, Millo, Smyle and Zhanco, leading exponents of Writing and Street Art, will give life to the first edition of the "Antonio Giordano Prize", realizing their works on a wall surface of 160 square meters, in the area of ​​the State Scientific Lyceum "Raffaele Capriglione".
A two days that will culminate, therefore, ne the creation of an outdoor art gallery, inspired largely by the artistic production of Antonio Giordano, while promoting the work of "authorized" Writing and Street Art ".

The municipal administration immediately accepted the idea and sponsored it with enthusiasm and passion. In this way, the figure of Antonio Giordano, as well as reliving in a meaningful and important event, will live again in two days that will leave the tangible sign of memory. Just as he did in life (his art is everywhere, his testimony is alive and present) now those who remain want to pay due thanks to a timeless artist who has left an important and immortal sign not only in his municipality but in a much wider and wider territory.
The initiative in its first edition will be a cornerstone of the cultural activities of our Administration. Thanks to those who participated with the invitation to visit the outdoor gallery at the Raffaele Capriglione Scientific High School.

Antonio Giordano and his work qualify a territory and the place where he was born and lived. The tribute is dutiful and heartfelt.
